Division winners take the top seeds in order of record. The remaining teams are ranked by winning percentage, with head-to-head and conference record as the first tiebreakers.
Which AFC seed gets a bye?
Only the No. 1 seed. It skips Wild Card weekend and has home-field advantage through the conference championship.
How does a wild card tie in the AFC get broken?
Head-to-head comes first, but only if the teams played each other. If not, it goes to conference record, then common games with at least four of them, then strength of victory and strength of schedule.
